Nov 1, 2016: MAYfest 2017 Announced!

Catskill Chill Music Festival and SkyBaby Yoga & Pilates Studio announce their dates for year three of MAYfest; a Music, Arts, and Yoga festival. This year’s event is planned for May 26-28th, 2016 at Surprise Lake Camp in Cold Spring, NY. Blind Faith Tickets are available now through their website until an initial line-up of yoga teachers, musical performances, and program schedule is announced in the coming weeks. This family friendly festival marks year three for co-producers Dave Marzollo and his wife, Melia Marzollo.

Festival goers will immerse themselves into their yoga practice, their love for music and their desire to explore a creative side. “MAYfesters” design their own experience by pre-registering for sessions online such as yoga and fitness classes, as well as health and wellness workshops, art classes, and children’s activities. There will be craft and food vending, free parking and camping, and cabin rentals for an additional fee.

MAYfest focuses on presenting the most current and highly regarded yoga instructors in the industry. Previous years have included high profile instructors like Sadie Nardini, Marti Nikko, Elena Brower, Raghunath, Justin Wolfer, and John Smrtic. “The teachers seem inspired by what we are creating here at MAYfest, and they ask us to return each year,” said Marzollo when asked who might return to teach this year.

Music is another huge focus for this weekend getaway. Previous acts have included Nahko & Medicine for the People, Trevor Hall, Dj Drez, Turkuaz, & Pink Talking Fish. MAYfest is known for combining music and yoga in the classrooms and we can expect more live performances during yoga classes on this year’s program.

Exploring creativity, another theme of the weekend, is made possible by MAYfest’s partnership with the non-profit Garrison Art Center returning again this year. A collection of GAC artists will teach both adult and kid classes throughout the festival, giving MAYfesters a break from the more physical activities.

Billed as “a homegrown Hudson Valley festival where everyone gets to go back to camp with the most amazing ‘counselors’ in the industry,” MAYfest is truly a community gathering place for everyone in the family. Tickets are currently available for the entire weekend, additional options for single class ticket and day passes will be released in the spring. Children under 12 are offered a discounted ticket, and children under 5 are free with an adult.
